Volleyball

With Galena schools moving up to Division II status, the Galena Hawks volleyball team is an all-female group. 22 girls started the season, and 10 girls traveled to regionals. The girls fought hard and did well during their volleyball season traveling to Valdez, Eielson, Delta, Hutchison and having a few home games. This was the first year (2010-2011) they ranked in Regionals, having played every team and Jenna Buchanan was honored at Regionals with an All Conference Team award and a Sportsmanship award. We are looking to grow the group next year and build skills in girls who want to give volleyball a try. Coached by Carrie Given and assistant coach Carlee Malemute.
