Woodworking
David Wightman teaches the woodworking, carpentry, and drafting classes in Galena. Raised in Dillingham, Alaska, he has worked in Galena classrooms for 13 years. Students are offered classes in carpentry, woodworking, and Auto CAD (computer-aided design software used for drafting, modeling, and architectural drawing).
Students in Mr. Wightman's classes work on many projects, culminating in the construction of a shed which is sold to the community for fund raising.
Students can earn a certificate from the National Center for Construction Education and Research in Mr. Wightman's classes.
