SHS School Closure
Due to unresolved water issues at Sidney C. Huntington School, students in Pre-K to 8th grade will not have school Monday, May 9th.Meals will not be served and the bus will not be picking up Pre-K to 8th grade students.Pre-K to 8th grade students will be receiving educational packets on Monday.High school students will again attend classes on the GILA campus. SHS Water Issue (Closure Update)
UPDATED as of Tuesday, May 10 @ 5:00 pm:
Dear SHS Families,
Our water issue is still unresolved, however we will wait until morning before announcing tomorrows PreK-8 schedule. I plan to make an announcement on or around 6:30am. Anticipate an automated call around that time. We will also post that announcement on various media.
Because of finals, all high school classes will remain on the GILA campus for tomorrow, Wednesday, May 11.

Spring Cleanup Week
The local Galena school kids will be doing spring cleanup, the week of May 9- 13th.
Shakespeare Project (CXLD)
UPDATE 4/28:
Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control, we will have to cancel the production of “The Shakespeare Project”. It is with a heavy heart that we make this announcement. Hopefully, we can resurrect this production next year and you’ll revel in a bit of Shakespeare at a later date.

Sidney C. Huntington School will be having a Playground Committee meeting on Tuesday, May 10 at 6:00 pm.
We will meet up in the Library/Commons area and then move to Mrs. Casey’s room. All interested Galena residents are welcome.

Spring Cleanup Week
The local Galena school kids will be doing spring cleanup, the week of May 9- 13th.
SHS water update
Repairs to our water system have been completed. Pre-K through 8th grade students will attend school at the normal time today, Wednesday, May 11th. The bus will be running at the normal time. High school students will continue to attend classes at GILA to finish their final exams. High School students will return to SHS tomorrow, Thursday, May 12th.
