Principal’s Corner

August, 2021

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year.

We are excited to have our students, teachers and staff back in the building.  We have had a busy summer working on building improvements.  The flooring in the high school side of the building has been replaced and we’ve created a lunch room for our students.  Improvements to the heating system will create a more pleasant learning environment for our students and teachers.   We’ve remodeled the back porch and transformed it into Mrs. Green’s classroom for Koyukon Cultural Studies.  We are ready to greet the new year with many new improvements.

We are still working with COVID-19 mitigation protocols to provide a safe learning atmosphere.  We will wear masks at school through September 7th as directed by our local health authorities.  After getting the “all clear” from the health authorities, we will change our masking protocols to requiring masks of only children 11 years and younger who have not, yet, had the chance to be vaccinated.  We are hoping for vaccines for our younger children soon.   We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we navigate the challenges of the continued Covid-19 pandemic.

We look forward to seeing our students involved in fall sports and activities.

Thank you for sending your children to school to learn with us.

Yours in Education,

David Casey, Principal
