Dear GCSD Family,
On behalf of the entire District, we sincerely hope that this communication finds each of you having enjoyed a magical, memorable, and merry holiday season thus far!
During these cherished times with family and friends, it is exceedingly important to “Be still…” and to embrace every second of these precious moments. Likewise, it is equally as meaningful and important to lift up those around us who may need a helping hand, words of support, and/or a warm fire/meal to bond over. After all, as a revered leader once said, “For it is in [the gift of] giving that we [truly] receive.”
Within this notion of “service,” your GCSD family works passionately to ensure that both you and your child(ren) feel valued, honored, and appreciated as key elements and driving forces within the District. We eagerly anticipate a spectacular 2nd semester of learning, exploration, and growth.
To ensure that we make good on this promise of “service” to you and that we strengthen the collective GCSD family into the future, we encourage you to hold us accountable for ringing in the “New Year” with the following principles in mind: (1) To be a better version of ourselves than we were yesterday, (2) To always place the best interests of our students and your children at the forefront of all decisions, and (3) To intentionally and routinely engage in acts of gratitude, kindness, and compassion.
In closing, we remain humbled and proud to support your child(ren)’s education, and we will continue to take this monumental responsibility to heart as we serve each of you both now and into the future.
Warmest of Holiday Wishes and Season’s Greetings,
Jason R. Johnson, Ed.D.
